Not enough room to fit in the Full title I have now modified it to "Black godmother to Prince William, Resigns : after being insulted by Royal staff " Last edited by arista; 01-12-2022 at 11:12 AM. |

There's a difference between politely asking someone of their heritage in an appropriate space and doing it in a way that's blatantly intentioned as racist/telling her that 'her kind isn't welcome.' If you knew what the name Ngozi means and who the Igbo people really are/how gifted they are you wouldn't be so quick to write her off as just some next black woman from Hackney but you shouldn't write off/indirectly-gaslight people of colour relating their experiences of racism anyway. Your comparison between a white English lady and a "snowflake" black woman (black people have been and go through too much to ever be snowflake-y; that's a white Gen.-Z thing, not something that applies to enterprising and hard-working black people with a lifetime of unnecessary discrimination to boot) in terms of who you think's more reliable is absolutely disgusting. I know you're fond of saying things to bait but at some point you're going to have to sit back and realise how shameful some of your comments and your wilful ignorance are.

There's only so far one can really go with people who are committed to disregarding/ignoring the nuances of racism and try to justify it with literal word-logic (I'm not saying you're prejudiced by any means but this evidently isn't a thing you have much experience of, whether directly or as a white person who's experienced enough in subtle racism and how it comes about). I'd candidly say attitudes like this are part of the problem but no-doubt everything I say will be twisted and asked to be supported with statistical studies proving that asking someone about their heritage in such a disrespectful way (not just in any context/for the sake of genuinely wanting to know but to be racist) is, indeed, racist so I am going to have to cap off this discussion at some point before it becomes too nonsensical and gaslight-y and anyone who sees the patent offence in this is called a paranoid conclusion-jumper.
