Default UK Firefighters to vote to Strike

Very dangerous Strike

[Firefighters to vote on strike action after
rejecting 5% pay offer

The Fire Brigades Union said it is holding
the ballot for a strike after demands for a pay increase
that reflects the soaring rate of inflation was rejected.]

[The FBU pointed out that inflation
currently stands at a record 11.1% and said
firefighters and control staff need
a "substantial pay increase" that reflects the
cost of living crisis.]

This doesn't surprise me at all.

If ensuring morale and conditions ends up being cast aside.
Leaving workforces feeling overworked, undervalued and on the end of lip service only kind of any appreciation.

The discontent will just grow and grow.
Eventually the ' enough is enough ' situation comes to the fore and the only action or way to even try to improve the situation ends up a possible strike.

The firefighters get abuse too just going about doing their vital service.

Strikes are generally a last resort and represent failure from those in authority who should be nurturing the right pay, conditions and ensuring workers like Doctors, Nurses, Police and firefighters not only feel valued in the right way but really are too.
Good luck to the firefighters in their battle here.
I hope they will ride out the unnecessary and vitriolic criticism they'll get from the media,.the government and some of the more hard-line public too.

The countries falling apart.

Public transport, Waste Removal, Posties, NHS, firefighters etc etc the list goes on

They are all the people that deserve the most pay they are vital to the country and the government should be sorting it out
