Exclamation Debate: Premier League becoming more mediocre?????

with mediocre troll teams undeservingly too high up the leaderboard

Newcastle 3rd place

Aston Villa 5th place

Brighton 8th place

Brentford 10th place

the english FA not doing enough rigging to stitch the league up for the elite teams as it normally should where Man City, Man United, Chelsea always have to be top 3 and also Liverpool, Arsenal in the top 5

it'll likely be a horrible european cup season next year with potentially mediocre teams Newcastle, Aston Villa, Brighton appearing in it and likely to be early outs as well

They aren't mediocre teams.
I like seeing changes to the leading teams .

I won't be happy with Man City winning the title but do admire their strength.

I'd rather not see Villa up there too.
Personal preference I'd rather Birmingham in there.

I think we have a good premier League overall.
The matches have become harder to predict.
That shows varied and strong competitiveness between the teams.

My only moan would be VAR, I think that hasn't added to the game at all .

Man City are just the superior team here, with norwegian Pelé - Haaland, 5 time world cup winner

I'm not a Newcastle fan.
However they've really turned things around this season.

They've been close to titles before in the 90s.

If they've played strongly and get that top 4 place, then they deserve it and any further success that comes from that.

Football often throws up surprising results across all competitions.
Any teams involved are all equally worthy of being there.

It's not like mediocre at all. What absolute bollox you dutch troll.

It's all down to great management where they can take teams way beyond what the individuals thought they were capable off.

Look at Leicester when they won it.

There's something Satanic going on with how high up Villa are.

But being serious, my main issue with the Premier League these days is how robotic Man City are, it's killing the competition imo because teams have to play at an unrealistic level just to stand a chance, it makes for a boring league imo, it's why I can't stand Celtic in the Scottish Premier League as well because it's not competitive since they helped kick Rangers out of the League all of those years ago.

I get that it's not Man City's fault that they're so good, but from a viewership perspective it makes them too predictable.

Imo there needs to be a cap at how much a team can spend in the Transfer Window, just so that Man City can't go around buying up every other teams best players, or no other rich team can do that either.

I personally would make the most that you can spend in any Transfer Window initially Ł80 Million, with the hope of eventually lowering it down to Ł50 Million over the years of teams transitioning to spending less.

Where as the way we're having it right now Man City and Man Utd for example can spend over Ł200 Million on their team in an individual Transfer Window and it's perfectly okay according to FIFA and our FA.

And didn't Chelsea get away with spending Ł600 Million this season? It's absolutely bonkers imo.

We need the League to be more open as to who can win the League imo, at the moment we're probably down to three teams that have been capable of winning the League over the last few seasons, and that's not good enough.

Yeah, it should be boring, were the same teams win everything, every single year, after year, after year, after year, after year, after year, after year, after year, after year, after year, after year. Because that would be interesting and something to look forward to.

Leicester competed against the big teams and won the league, it happens. People forget that when the big teams pay big money for players, they are giving it to the smaller teams, which allows them to compete. Look no further than Brighton, Aston Villa, Brentford and Fulham

I hate to say it but historically Villa are a big team.

Imo the fact that they don't realistically have a shot at winning the League is ridiculous.

The Leicester and Liverpool type of years need to be more possible imo.

I mean let's be real the way Football is being run, teams like Crystal Palace and Bournemouth don't stand a cat in hell's chance of ever building a team to win the Premier League, the FA is allowing Man City to really turn it into a one team League with the odd year where a Leicester might win it.

La Liga and Bundesliga also need to make their Leagues more open for other teams to win as well, that's an exciting competition imo, and ironically would probably draw new fans to the Sport that might've previously hated it beforehand.

But Football & F1 love coronation years far too much, it's sad because both Sports imo are entertaining at their core level, but blatant cheating and corruption from the organization's that run them actually harms the quality rather than enhances it imo.

Because let's be real do you ever see Brighton ever being allowed to win the Premier League? If next season they're top of the table after the first 20-25 games, I bet that the Referees and VAR would find any excuse to give the opposition penalties against them, and probably disallow any goal that's even slightly subjective on the matter.

I know that I'm entering conspiracy theories towards the end, but I honestly believe that the FA love how it currently is with Man City just dominating by a mile over everybody else.

maybe Brighton can win the premier league at some point?

i mean we in eredivisie even had FC Twente win the league for first time, under Steve McClaren

or AZ Alkmaar winning the league under legendary coach Louis van Gaal (whom also mocked Ajax, PSV, Feyenoord the usual top 3 in his victory speech that year)

Those moments are cool when they happen in any country tbf, well done to both of those teams for fighting against the odds in the Eredivisie.

But Football (in Europe anyway) has a massive issue of 17-18 teams turning up into the Premier League of their respective country and stand a 0.000000000001% chance of winning the League, it's a massive issue that needs to be fixed (not by rigging) but by trying to find ways of making all of the teams be on a level playing field.

Can anyone honestly tell me that Man City and Leeds are in the same League as each other? Or that Barcelona and Cadiz are comparable in quality? And don't even get me started on Celtic and their nowadays one sided League.

Apologies for the ranting btw.

But it's something that I've felt for awhile now, and this thread got a reaction out in me, so you're doing something right Nicky.

And just to add I don't hate Man City (but I do hate Celtic) I honestly just want a more competitive title race.

Girona kicked Real Madrid's arse the other day this week, 4-2 win and with this win they are still in contention for the last european ticket place, a minor chance but still

Barca lost 2-1 away at Rayo Vallecano last night though so smaller teams have their moments too

i myself still stan Fortuna Sittard but i don't expect us to ever win league titles lol

i just like the ambitions within this team whom was nearly bankrupt anyway, with mr Isitan Gun having saved us, i really hate some other fans here calling us a ''vile turkish team'' like ''fortunaspor'' being an insult to dutch football, i am like what the **** at these insults, and we do have dutch players but our youth teams aren't as strong as top tier teams so we have to invest in foreign players too

Swedish league seems better than Scottish tbh, i really like Djurgardens there, much more than Malmo and was pleased to see them having went deep in conference league even beating a Gent in group stage there

outside europe, i love the MLS, the competitiveness of most teams, the almost similar atmosphere as in the NFL, and also in australia A-League, keeps improving either

I would hope you washed your mouth out there Mock saying Villa as a big team

I too am sick of the Celtic and to a point Rangers see saw in that League.
I'd love one season even to just see Hibernian break through, I like Hibs.

Although maybe I now need to wash my mouth out here , as I am really impressed with Kyogo for Celtic.
Just wish he was playing for some other team.

All good points you've made in your posts Mock.
Interesting reading.
