the republic protestors had been in consultation with the police for 3 months prior to the event. The police were aware of exactly what they intended to do and approved it. They then arrested the leadership immediately before the event.

The other examples, where people had rape alarms etc, i have no problem with them being arrested, but the police went too far, and they know it, hence their apology

Slick Liam
the leaders were arrested
as in the cell, they have No Phone.

So Republic Group were not able to give interviews
to any press on the important day

The Police achieved that.

The apology was planned, it was a tactical move and the right one as they had far more serious worries and responsibilities.

Arresting community workers handing out rape alarms to women in the city on a weekend evening, because of something they’ve read in the Daily Mail, does not constitute good policing.

They stated their intention to curb protest the day before the coronation when they declared they would have a ‘low tolerance’ for ‘disturbances’ they went out and arrested people that weren’t committing crimes and they know they did and they did it purposefully at the behest of the government and a king with too much ego

I’m glad their hollow apology wasn’t accepted and the victims are going to be taking legal action, The Met has repeatedly shown they are not fit for purpose, it’s about time they faced some consequences

No the DM got their info from the Police

That Alarm, used wrongly, could make a Horse jump
into the crowd

Whats the matter with some people being so annoyed that this event went off without a hitch, so some were arrested they weren't hurt, which cannot be said if those horses had been spooked it could have been carnage, but some didnt get that drama so now they are stamping their feet ,good on the police I say.no ones stopping them protesting but lets not be spiteful and ruin a once in a life time event for some.

That's not the part they've apologised for though is it.

Except people were stopped from protesting, that’s literally the whole point, people were denied their rights to protest.

You’re right, I don’t talk about the horses because it’s completely irrelevant, ‘horses might be scared by things we think some people might think of doing’ is not a logical, reasonable or legal reason to arrest people committing no crimes and deny them their fundamental rights as free citizens.

If you all want to get swallowed up and ease your mind with hypotheticals, knock yourselves out, but the facts of what happened are the facts, no amount of theories will excuse the ridiculous abuse of power displayed

Was it a meaningful and important protest
No it was a few sad bastards that will have to suck it up the monarchy is going no where

And like most people involved in protest, they are basically morons that have no life.

Take note, Slick Liam:

Met Police chief says fake stewards caught with
bottles of paint they planned to throw
at coronation procession

Sir Mark Rowley says the arrest of
six anti-monarchy protesters was "unfortunate" - but insists
his officers were seeking to thwart
what he describes as a "criminal network".
All six were released without charge.]

The people arrested weren’t even protesting yet, they were arrested before they had started, because they were planning to protest, that is an abuse of power and an attack on our human rights

Yes, this was a Special Royal day.
It avoided them having their Mobile phones
while in the Police Cell.
Republic Leaders unable to talk to any Press.

That was the Police plan

Good Tom Cruise Sci Fi film

Yes, it was their plan to arrest people for planning to peacefully protest, I’m glad we can finally agree that that was their goal all along, to curb people using their rights
