POLITICO spoke to more than 20 people who worked with Davies in parliament, including serving MPs and current and former members of Labour Party staff. They described a pattern of excessive drinking, sexual comments and unwanted touching by Davies stretching back at least five years, directed exclusively at younger women in the workplace.

Davies’ alleged behavior appears to have been an open secret in certain parts of the Labour Party, but no action was taken in the absence of a formal complaint. Such situations underline the difficulty of rooting out harassment claims in parliament.

Good he's suspended.

Honestly the mess across Parties of these allegations is becoming really bad now.

Any single one would be bad enough, so many creeping into the news and needing further investigation is really unacceptable.

The selection processes need tightening up plus I think there should be more in the way of checks once an MP too.
It's worrying though that so many long standing MPs seem to find their way into situations like this alleged issue/s.

It's wholly wrong and disgraces politics even more than it already is sadly.

There's only allegations at this stage.

You can only under current rules suspend the whip from MPs even up to being arrested and charged.
That needs changing.

You cannot though ban anyone without evidence submitted, investigated, charged and then found guilty.
ONCE found guilty then yes they should be in addition to any other penalty for the crime, they should be banned from ALL public office.

What's needed is a more thorough selection process for anyone wanting to be an MP.
More thorough in ALL Parties as this is in all Parties.

Politics needs shaking up massively.
I'll not go on again what I'd like to see.
However we need more dedicated and genuine people to get into politics.
If the leaders of ALL Parties worked to clean up politics rather than dirty politics more, maybe we'd get somewhere.

Much more ongoing assessments of MPs needs to be put in place in my view.
If we are ever going to get not a perfect set of MPs but certainly a better set.
I know the majority of MPs across parliament are hardworking and really want to improve things.
The Party system is part of the problem too.
It's needed obviously is the Party system but blind loyalty and forcing votes from MOs, even when wrong is out of date.

Spend more time ensuring there are better and dedicated MPs.
From a more rigid selection process of candidates and more vetting of them too.
