Tbf I think that we've all liked something that was controversial in the Entertainment Industry.

I didn't mind the ending, as in the end results but I thought it was much too rushed, I think the same ending in the books (had GRRM ever finished them) would have been much more fleshed out and would feel more authentic

I think her story arc was good, you know she'd go full circle and turn into her father the mad king wanting to burn everything etc but she should have gradually got meaner and meaner. Jon Snows ending was good for him, he'd rather be free with the wildlings

I also wouldn't have had the characters start calling her the Mad Queen, it felt too try hard imo.

The latest Indiana Jones.
I didn't know what to expect, but I really enjoyed it. Indiana Jones brings me back to my childhood, I grew up watching these movies. It was actually better than I expected, I had a great time and Harrison Ford definitely still gotit. A solid 8 out of 10.

Disney's Pinocchio (2022)
7/10 Among the best of the Disney Remakes, though that obviously ain't saying much All of the characters were good, Blue Fairy sounded beautiful, the film kept the "fairytale feel" quite well, etc. My only real complaint would be it was a bit too long, none of the additions or changes from Disney's original really added anything. Like, it was cute how Pinoc wouldn't talk to the girl from the show unless she used the puppet etc, but it wasn't better than more Fairy, and it didn't make for good pacing. Speaking of pacing, some of the individual scenes aren't well paced. Like, Lampwick's transformation was a bit too quick and "matter of fact", while others (like the mallet on head scene) were a bit draggy. Last edited by Oliver_W; 08-07-2023 at 07:12 PM. |

Yes, a much better movie overall, it's a bit weird that they came out in the same year but knowing Del Toro it was probably on purpose .
It's more a re-imagining of the original book, though. Very different to the Disney interpretation. |

Mission Impossible 7.
Wow it was absolutely brilliant! Funny and the action set pieces take your breath away. The only bad thing is, I have to wait until next year for the second part An easy 10/10.

Babylon (2022).
Flipping amazing, beautiful, rollercoaster epic of a movie that didn't make anywhere near as much noise as it should have and completely split opinion for whatever reason. How this didn't win big awards is crazy (cinematography, camera work and sets alone are mind blowing). Damien Chazelle is a master director. Last edited by LaLaLand; 01-08-2023 at 04:48 AM. |
