Where did he get the sub-machine gun from?

That has to be the thing that causes concern.

Minimum of 48 years, these are the sentences we should be seeing for all murders

Make taking someone’s life a life sentence for the murderer

yes and do you think jailing them for the majority of their life is fair?

no system is full proof but i would rather one that is in favour of the victim's families than the criminals

modern forensics have reduced the chances of false sentences hugely

Thereby hangs the prosecutors fallacy

It was deeply flawed forensic evidence in the Sally Clark case that caused that travesty. It was the Royal Statistical Society, of which I am a fellow led the charge on that one to overturn a wrongful conviction. It was also flawed forensic science that wrongfully convicted the Birmingham Six. By just handling playing cards, they tested positive for handling explosives. Even today, if you eat a poppyseed cake or bagel you will test positive for heroin use. That has been proved on Mythbusters and Braniac.

Fans of the late John Mortimer's "Rumpole of the Bailey" should be able to recite the famous quote, "Better to let twelve guilty men go free, than to hang / convict an innocent man. For to hang an innocent man is to spit in the face of justice"

You can always buy people to turn a blind eye. Sometimes corrupt people are in the wrong job where corrupt people don't need to be.
