Celine's version of I Drove All Night wasn't butchery of the original, just that she made it her own, and Roy had his own take of that song, same with Cyndi Lauper whom i believe also had covered this one


and i've heard Celine's version live, when i was in Las Vegas, from her A New Day tour, live from Caesars Palace was quite the experience for me

Fair enough contestants being miffed when they've taken the time to choose a song they think is perfect, but I've never heard of disgraced former judges being upset.

My definition of a one hit wonder would be someone who only had one song get into the top 10 in the charts and didn't have any other song that even reached the top 20.

That's a difficult criteria. I think my criteria is more realistic and appealing.

Sometimes they have a big hit and then on the back of that hit they have another song that isn't a hit but still sells OK because of their first hit.

That's pretty much the definition of a one hit wonder.

If you type one hit wonders into Google then Dexy's midnight runners are on there with "Come on Eileen" But they had other songs. "Geno" and a cover of a van Morrison song called "Jackie Wilson said" but Google says that "Come on Eileen" is a one hit wonder.

Chesney Hawkes had a number 1. Then his next song reached number 27. Then he basically disappeared. That's the criteria I see as one hit wonder.

I know of this song because it's from the film, Buddy's song. Starring Chesney Hawkes and Roger Daltry. I went to pictures to see this. Basically because I have always been a Buddy Holly fan.
