Default Initial thoughts…

So… it’s back. And I’m not disappointed. I loved so many aspects of that launch episode - but there are just a few bits I’m not too fond of. The first being the pre-recorded launch. I think we all used to love the live launches. There was something about them that made Big Brother what it was. Pre-recorded feels a little manufactured and the whole USP of the show was to be natural, no make-up, unfiltered, etc.

My other peeve was the voice of Big Brother. It felt so unnatural and really odd. The sound in general just didn’t seem quite right.

With that being said, the housemates are all fantastic. Well, barring one or two. A real good selection - diverse, broad and exciting. I think there are a few teething problems - but I expected that. Overall, I loved it. I am so excited that Big Brother is back on our screens.

EDIT: Oh, and despite the fact I loved it, the editing was appalling. Whoever signed off on the editing needs sacking. It looked as though an A-Level student had been let loose.

Yeah i definitely missed a live launch, kinda felt a bit rushed and wish the VT’s were a little longer. Also wasn’t a fan of the party games lol

Do you think it will be live for evictions?

I really hope so. There’s something about the live aspect that felt authentic and fun. The pre-recorded stuff is too manufactured and edited.

I agree about the non-live launch, it definitely seemed like less of an 'event' - but I also like that it seemed a lot quicker. The C5 launches used to drag like mad and I'd start to lose interest quite quickly.

Casting was good, I think. I'd have liked to have seen a couple of 'rougher' people, if that makes sense... thinking BB8 Tracey/Carole. This lot are very 'put together' but still a lot more 'real' than the C5 bunch which is good.

You're never going to beat Davina, but I didn't mind the hosts and I thought they did quite well on Late & Live which is where we will be seeing the majority of them. I'll reserve a full judgement for the first eviction - but appreciate they have big boots to fill which can't be easy for them from a mindset point of view. I quite liked having them both there.

Looking forward to watching it again tomorrow to get a full day of action, we will know pretty soon whether it's going to be good or not!
