Is it really that new though? Granted, it's more talked about and visible these days but the concept of there being people who are transgender has been common knowledge for decades at this point. I mean, we are talking about this on a Big Brother forum, a show that was won by a trans woman 20 years ago, and then a trans man over a decade ago. I just assumed that most people were long past the stage of being confused on whether they are just gay men/women. It's not that new or groundbreaking.

Yes .. as I mentioned .. she said she had crushes on two guys who were popular quite a few years back when she was a HE

Well things like people having pronouns .. I only heard about this stuff about 6 months ago when someone asked my pronouns online and I had no idea what they were talking about.

Yes, but I would say that most people are aware of the fact that a trans person was always trans, it's just that there was a time before they came out. Hallie didn't just suddenly become a trans woman on the day she came out and started treatment. Obviously I can't speak for her, but for most trans people it is something they have known for most, if not their entire lives, but there comes a day when you have to essentially let everybody else know. I appreciate that maybe this just isn't something you know a lot about and I guess people have to learn about it somewhere, and I get being confused about pronouns etc (even though I think a lot of that discourse has been blown out of proportion to be weaponised against trans people).

Technically she still is male and always will be, gender and sex are different, like gender and sexuality are.

But to put it simply: sexuality is who you want to go to bed with, gender is who you want to go to bed as.

Someone being a transwoman doesn't necessarily mean they're attracted to men.
