Default How come I can see the moon at 2pm..

So its 2am in Australia, and I imagine they will be looking up at the moon in the sky..but wait, if Australia is at the other side of the world, how can I be looking at the same moon in the sky over scotland at 2pm?

See if you can see the Moon tonight, and particularly look out at 2am, if you're awake around then.

i've seen the moon in day time loads of times, particularly in the winter. Remember that there are regularly solar eclipse during the day, which is the moon passing in front of the sun

None of that explains why the other side of the world is in darkness and able to see the same moon.

To be more clear...

Australias side is facing directly at the moon, whilst our side, almost polar opposite to australia isnt. But we still see it!!

We should actually have our backs to the moon if we look up into the sky during the day.

the moon is a big enough distance away that it can be seen acroos the earth. Field of vision is directly related to distance

That saying only works when you say across the earth, rather than, around the globe.

Ok, so I've spent ages just twiddling my phone, and the only thing I've learned is the 1 hour numbers isnt how long I've spent doing so.
