Mathematically he's the only one who with the SNP can have a chance to govern in Scotland.
With 63 seats.

However it's going to be hard to get any major or controversial policies passed.

There's no other combinations that could govern in the SNPs place.
No way the Cons would support a Labour led governing body.
No way LABOUR would support a Con led governing body either.

If he's defeated, he could resign and let the SNP try a new leader in place.
Or it's starting to look if he's defeated, the mood will be for fresh assembly elections to be held.
If the SNP cannot get policies passed.

Unless he can win the Greens back or tempt the Lib Dems with anything.
Then this looks like more paralysis now for the Scottish assembly.
