[First Minister Vaughan Gething
has come under more pressure after Plaid Cymru ended its co-operation deal with Labour in Wales immediately. Plaid leader Rhun ap Iorwerth said he was proud of what the deal had a chieved but was "deeply concerned" about £200,000 given to Mr Gething's leadership campaign by a company owned by a man twice convicted of environmental offences. The deal saw Plaid help the Labour-run Welsh government - which has exactly half the seats in the Welsh Parliament - get through important votes. It comes during a turbulent week in the Senedd for Mr Gething after he sacked one of his ministers.] https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/ce5l86e0veeo What a mess for Labour Votes |

Could see this coming.
The new leader of Plaid has expressed uncertainty to thia agreement since taking over Who can he help in, the Cons???? That'll go down well with Welsh voters . Let's see what the Lib Dem does now. I do think the Labour leader has looked less than really open on the issue Plaids leader is on about however. |

Welsh Labour accuse critics of ‘racism’ as First Minister battles for his political
career The events in Wales appear to be similarly mirroring those prior to the resignation of Humza Yousaf in Scotland. ![]() Supporters of Welsh Labour First Minister Vaughan Gething have been desperately accusing his opponents and critics of racism, as he battles to save his political career. Mr Gething is now on course for a vote of confidence in the next fortnight, after a myriad of scandals have seen him accused of receiving controversial donations and misleading the Covid inquiry over the deleting of crucial pandemic WhatsApps. On Friday the Welsh nationalist party Plaid Cymru announced it was ending its co-operation deal with Labour, with leader Rhun ap Iorwerth saying he was “deeply concerned” about the £200,000 donation given to Mr Gething’s leadership campaign by a company owned by a man twice convicted of environmental offences. Last week Mr Gething also caused fireworks by sacking a Labour minister whom he accused of being responsible for leaks, specifically around a WhatsApp showing he did proactively delete WhatsApp messages. https://www.express.co.uk/news/polit...-racism-crisis |

Oh I still believe devolution is right for domevsekf governing of Scotland and Wales.
It was expected and was going to have to be done to address denandsbof Scotland in particular. The devolution vote in 1997 was supported by 74% in Scotland. So that level of opinion shouldn't have been discarded. In Wales, the vote was very narrow for devolution. However I'd doubt either Scotland or Wales would ever allow it to be reversed now. They've just got to, accept more working together. Because how devolution is set up, it's not designed for ONE Party control. |

political parties have all realised that culture wars are what gets the public most engaged, so they have been focusing on that to the almost total exclusion of everything else. The public is being played here in the UK just as much as it is in America
