Arrow Geert Wilders strikes deal to form hard-right government in Netherlands

The popular Dutch nationalist is known for his views on Islam, immigration and the climate

Geert Wilders has reached a deal which is set to form the most right-wing
government in the Netherlands in decades.

Almost six months after a major election win with his Party for Freedom
(PVV), the nationalist has announced plans to bring together outgoing Prime
Minister Mark Rutte's centre-right VVD, the new NSC party and farmers'
protest party BBB in a coalition.

Talks have been ongoing for months since Wilders' election victory on November 22.

He said discussions for a suitable Prime Minister candidate would be "picked
up at a later moment" after he forfeited the position in a bid to get the
parties to come together.

Pieter Omtzigt, leader of the centrist NSC party said: "We're going to form a government.

"We'll wait and see who Wilders proposes as a prime minister candidate."

The "Hope, Courage and Pride" coalition platform presented today introduces
strict measures on asylum seekers, scraps family reunification for refugees,
and will reduce the number of non-EU students coming to the country.

"Deport people without a valid residence permit as much as possible, even
forcibly," the agreement says.

The coalition will also strive to get a Dutch opt-out from the EU’s new
Migration Pact and its mandatory migrant relocation quotas.

The protesting farmers will have many of their demands met.

The coalition will change the country’s stance on nuclear energy and will start
work on building 4 new nuclear reactors.

Support for Ukraine will continue and a new law will oblige the government to
meet the NATO requirement of spending at least 2% of GDP on the military.

The Netherlands will take new measures to support its Jewish community and
will move the embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

Conservatives take note

Ronald Plasterk won't be the new PM

well you don't have to expect us to do something about all the refugees currently in our nation, Geert had an agreement with VVD's Yesilgoz as for that

probably climate crisis will be our first priority without being against the farmers now, that is what BBB and Caroline van der Plas want

Omtzigt i am not keen on though

Wilders: Proud that Dick Schoof is fully prepared to be prime minister

news media here also asked some people what they think of this news, most don't know Schoof that well honestly

Netherlands going with Big Dick Energy into the right direction hopefully for a better future

couldn't resist

that photo i posted, is a Dick Pic, get it

finally i can be a more patriotic dutchman tbh, Wilders as PM himself would've been too radical extreme, but this is a nice chosen inbetween option

hasn't got experience in politics, but has got much experience in justice, security, anti-terrorism and anti-cybercrime

Default background info on Dick Schoof here

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dick_Schoof

has a very long career anyway

apparently he has two adopted children from China (whom he adopted with his now ex-wife)

has a girlfriend

good to know, because we never knew this from our past prime minister Mark Rutte (whom is speculated in the media to be gay or straight, since we never see him with anyone in his private life)

i approve of Dick Schoof as our new prime minister

i mean the bar was already below freezing point for me after turds Balkenende and Rutte

but he is decent

also our new foreign minister is Caspar Veldkamp

nice guy too, an improvement from the complete failure that was Kajsa Ollongren

Wilders though shows himself to be quite a hypocrite two faced snake, how he tried to stop Schoof from saying something about a muslim woman in our parliament with her headscarf

no longer wants a nexit, is backing down against muslims

well he should thread carefully now, otherwise Wilders can also move out, alongside Yesilgoz

Schoof is better than Wilders tbh, he has no political background before this, so no experience with the previous snakepits that were Rutte cabinet and Balkenende cabinet

this was 5 days ago, Canada's Trudeau met with Dick Schoof for the first time

https://www.youtube.com/shorts/2ggipGuu6Zk

Schoof and UK's Starmer enjoyed the euro2024 semi final of england - netherlands, together apparently

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rpVnSUhpWIY

also already having discussed more support for ukraine's air defences with Zelensky
