People in europe don't really understand the way the american system works. Here we have a cabinet, any member could step up and take responsibility if necessary. In America, only the president has legal authority. The VP can't just step in as a deputy.

The reason i say that, is that people say Biden is surrounded by competent people, but ultimate authority rests with a guy that says he needs his bed after 8pm. I don't think he should be in the job now either, but they won't invoke the 25th amendment, its too difficult, so he will be there until January at a minimum

I never really see that ever mentioned, which makes sense. Democrats are not running on anti-crime so it's not a great asset to have lol (Look at all the people she locked away!).

More see the race card since that is largely considered the main reason she was chosen and what we often seen when she is in VP role is a very surface level politician who often fumbles her words under pressure. She's at best an average mouthpiece for Biden and the rest of the party. Unremarkable, otherwise.

Her race helped her to get the VP pick but is absolutely worthless for her in winning the Presidency. Obama had credentials, you could see them at play anytime he spoke and in how he carried himself under pressure. His experience in education and his background, whether that be his ethnicity or upbringing, only came to be his asset when he clearly demonstrated his strengths. He was never going to run for President but then people heard him speak and many moderates, even right of center people, gravitated towards him for his high intellect and emotionally intelligent way of thinking. I followed him as he campaigned so watched Obama happen in real time when he was just being noticed. He was never intended to run for President. Kamala cannot even compare. He may have done things I didn't like while in office, but he was well spoken and for the most part represented the country very well.

I don't see Harris leading anything, as she can barely handle interviews and flubs even rehearsed lines. She is very easily flustered. She also has the same issue as Hillary in that she is just downright unlikable. Hillary only had the type of career (note I didn't say she couldn't have a career) she had because of her husband's last name. Yes, she was part of the Washington dynasty at that point but it's not like people scramble to get her opinion on current events. Seeing her face alone makes too many people groan the moment they see her so we rarely hear from her. There's a reason we don't see her featured very often.

They should replace Biden, even it is Harris, for the sake of the country. If he were to win in his current state it would cause major problems. It would be a mistake to use Harris, but it is almost November. I don't see Biden stepping down unless he absolutely has to. He probably thinks he has the best chance and after at least 8 years of an absolutely horrific political environment, with terrible candidates, he might not be wrong to think that way. Most anyone "well known" they put up will have major baggage of some kind. Especially names like Gavin Newson. There's no one they can rebrand quick enough to patch things up. Harris has the least baggage I suspect but it makes it more opaque as to what kind of leader she will be. She gets offended really easily even on some basic questions, so I'm not very hopeful she won't be more than a party puppet with a terrible temperate... so not much different than Biden, really, but at least cognitively aware.

A campaign of a successful prosecutor vs a conflicted felon and rapist, especially a prosecutor 2 decades younger than the rapist who can put over her case very well, it wouldn’t be much of a fair match

even in the last staged sit down interview, Biden was zoning out. The funny thing is that the interviewer asked biden what would happen if he repeated his performance in the next debate, and he said it won't happen again, which is pretty stupid given it happened before and had just happened a couple of times in that very interview

It may be that he just doesn't know its happening, he didn't watch back the debate, which i also think is a bit odd

He is very likely to go if reelected so a Harris presidency is virtually guaranteed. The only reason the Republicans aren't making a bigger deal out of it is that Trump is no spring chicken either. It could be just as easily his VP within 4 years.

Does anyone really think Biden will survive another 4 years? I just saw a video where it appeared he mistook another blonde for his wife. His actual wife asked him to come with her the other direction and he followed the blonde as she awkwardly tried to walk off after overhearing the conversation. Even if it weren't a mix up between the women, clearly his behavior is muddled and confused if he can't even follow basic instructions like which direction to go off stage, etc.
