This is needed though to try to get knives out of possession and off the streets.
However, for me, much stiffer and certainly longer custodial sentences for knife crime OR even just owning or carrying one is what I think needs to be brought in.

Joey they already tried this amnesty in Leeds I think a while ago, sure plenty of weapons were handed in... in fact alot of knives and all sorts. Knife crime still happened like it always has ,granted it's so much worse now . Seems every day practically we're hearing of a weapon attack / stabbing of some kind which is horrific,and there definitely needs to be action to tackle it .
The way I see it ...the violent criminals/ thugs will not be so willing to hand over their weapons,and even if they do... they'll likely have other weapons anyway . As it's never just 1 item they own.
