First ever NME Awards USA takes place today (Apr 23)

The NME Awards USA are set to get underway in just a few hours time today (April 23).

The ceremony, held at Los Angeles' El Rey Theatre, gets under way from 9pm (PST) and NME.COM will be bringing you all the build-up, the red carpet arrivals, the gossip, video interviews and the awards themselves from 7pm.

You can also watch the whole of NME Awards USA live exclusively through Myspace. To access the live stream head to NME’s MySpace page at www.myspace.com/nmemagazine.

Already a key event on the global music scene with its annual British ceremony, this is the first time the NME Awards have been staged in America and you can expect a big night at the El Rey Theatre.

The Lemonheads, Mick Jones' Carbon/Silicon, Does It Offend You Yeah? and Jane's Addiction – whose original line-up are reforming especially for the event – will all be playing live, while the ceremony is being hosted by actor and comedian Jim Jeffries and Har Mar Superstar, - who will also be acting as NME.COM's roving reporter on the night.

Head to the full NME Awards USA index now at www.nme.com/awardsusa, where we will have all the news, video interviews and blogs coming live throughout the night.
