That final bit revealed Ali's plan - she wanted Rosie with Marcello and at risk of leaving the House. She cleverly tried to paint it as protecting Lily, but Dean saw the risk and headed it off by throwing Khaled out there instead. And she didn't have an argument; there was possibly no one else she wanted to put at risk. I'm not sure if she wanted to put Khaled at risk, really, but was cornered.
