Default BBAU returns in 2025

Big Brother is coming back to Australian TV for it's next season back on it's original channel, Network 10. The show is reverting back to the original format with live coverage from the house.

Will you be watching?

I might watch it, but I wish Sonia was going to be the host

When I saw the announcement I was hoping Gretel or Sonia would be back. I'm assuming Sonia said goodbye to the show when it was canceled on 7. Also wondering how they'll reconstruct the house or if they'll be moving to a soundstage like the UK did.

In Australia, you're contracted to the network, so the only reason why Sonia continued hosting Big Brother after it was axed by Channel 9 was because she moved to Channel 7. She's still at Channel 7 so it would be a breach of contract to host Big Brother. I do wish Gretel took it again, but it is exciting to see a fresh face, and I can't wait to see how Mel does! From the clips I've seen of her she seems like a good candidate for the role. I hope Mike Goldman returns for narration as well

Is this the first time a show or at least BB has been sold off by a channel only to be bought back again?

Either way I'm continually devatstated that Gretel doesn't return. Hopefully a move back to Dreamworld happens.

I don't think it'll return to Dreamworld. I believe the land that the house used to be on has been sold off and is a new development. I've heard rumours that it'll be in Docklands in Melbourne

Another rumour I saw on our Aussie BB equivalent forum is that they might even be considering Brisbane.

Did they make the most of the North Head location? Most stunning location for a house.

Ah this makes sense! I don't live in Australia (just like watching your shows). What show is Gretel and Sonia doing now?

If you look on Google maps the area the original house was is barely a mark on the ground anymore. It looks like a shopping center was developed close by, and a new road cuts through where the original house once was. Also the auditorium footprint is still massively obvious but it hasn't been replaced with anything. Such a shame. It was a great location.

I don't know exactly what Gretel is doing now, I think she's an author and a comedian. Sonia is still contracted to 7, doing The Voice and Dancing with the Stars
