By the 17th of September 1970

Default Jimi Hendrix in Kennisington Garden, London Sept. 1970

I heard a story the other day that loads of top notch guitarists went to see Hendrix when he was performing in England ( including Eric Clapton and Peter Frampton ) and they went away saying that they had to practice far more !!

Nobody like him. Indescribable talent.

We lost so many greats, “proper” rock stars in the 60’s and 70’s far too young (Hendrix, Jim Morrison, Janis Joplin etc). Wish they’d have got the chance to stick around much longer and do their thing.

Above all I think I wish Phil Lynott didn’t pass quite so young

That's a true story. And at that time, Clapton was seen as the main man.

Hendrix was discovered in a club in Greenwich village New York by Chas Chandler. Who was the bass player for the The Animals, who were one of the British invasion bands of the early to mid 1960s. And he brought him to England and put together Jimi Hendrix experience.
