this is a film adaptation from a novel, and tbh cerebral palsy is quite a serious physical condition, which comes in all sorts of forms, you got people like Phoebe-Rae irl but you also have people like the character Melody who can't speak at all
true that Disney puts entertainment content first, but you can also combine that with some educative content, same how they had native american appreciation in the MCU in ''Echo'' (which got lots of praise from the native american communities)
