many jokes are offensive, that's the whole point of them. People need to see what Jimmy Carr does in a comedy standup or Jimmy Boyle

To be fair, most people know what they are going to get if thet go to see Jimmy Carr etc though and will laugh at what they say but be shocked if Jimmy from work said the same thing
