Actually I've found this latest series really good, and I think he's a really good actor. I'd say its more the story writers that make doctor who woke lately, but as I say a lot of this series episodes have been good.

I think Doctor who has probably had its day now anyway

This series has been really good. I wonder how many episodes LT has watched this year.

And his replacement is heavily rumoured to be mon other than Billie Piper, if they go down that route it's strange seeing as she played the most iconic assistant in the shows history

Billie Piper
will make a good change

If it works

[ DOCTOR WHO: Billie Piper has been cast as the 16th Doctor
TV

The latest Doctor Who season has been
plagued with leaks - all of this information
originates from a source known as Andrew,
a YouTube commentator who
frequently shares alleged Doctor Who leaks
in the comment sections of various videos.
Notably, his track record has been
accurate so far — correctly revealing key
details such as the plot of episode 1,
that episode 3 would serve as a sequel
to the Series 4 episode Midnight,
the return of the Fugitive Doctor,
the reappearance of Susan,
and the reveal that Mrs Flood
is actually the Rani.

He has now stated that Billie Piper
has been cast as the 16th Doctor,
who will make her introduction
at the end of the series finale followed
by a surprise regeneration from the
15th Doctor, played bt Ncuti Gatwa.

A breakdown of the reports can be found here - https://fandompulse.substack.com/p/r...-considered-to ]

That's satire right?

We're having assistants now playing the role of The Doctor?

…I’m not a Dr Who watcher but I believe that it isn’t in any way confirmed to be Billie Piper…it is though said to be someone who has appeared in the series in the past so a familiar face…but still no confirmation of who…

…well there is another way of looking at that, Mock…why does a female Doctor have an apprenticeship …/be an assistant first…when the male Doctors get that top job without having to serve their assistant time……hmmmmmmm….also, maybe if there were more assistants in that top The Doctor, job…and working their way through experience…?…we might not see Doctor changes so often, also a thought…

Yeah i don’t see an issue. I don’t watch the show or anything, not since the Billie Piper days but they always switch the actors up every few seasons… and not a fan of him or anything but i doubt he’ll struggle for work

…I had read that he was going to focus on the USA for work but that I’m not sure of…his Dr Who has, though…been immortalised and tributed in a Barbie figure…I mean, of course…that’s probably why he took the part…..

I don't want to out and out criticise doctor who for the last 5+ years, but it's writing just isn't for me. It's always been "quirky" and people either like it or they don't, and i'm firmly in the don't category in its current phase

I think the writing is technically better now than it was in the "Chibnall era" but I think one of the major issues it currently has is that RTD has become very, very self-indulgent and it's never a good thing when writers or showrunners start getting over-confident. I also think it's always been a better show when it goes a little darker... there's not been much darkness that doesn't feel a bit forced.

Basically they're quite stuck on this "After all, it was always intended to be a family/kids show!" when frankly that just is NOT the current audience... the current audience is mainly young adults who may have been kids when this run started, back in 2005, but they are definitely not now. They need to start writing for an older audience. That doesn't mean kids can't watch it... but I'm not saying it needs to go full violence-and-swearing, it can have complex/adult themes and you can trust younger people watching to figure out those themes. Kids don't just want to watch "kid stuff", that's kind of the point... us 90's kids grew up asking to stay up late to watch The X Files etc. it's fine to let kids watch shows written for adults!

You can guarantee when there’s a new doctor, probably a white male, all this talk of woke will suddenly stop.

You're probably right tbh.

Even though the Show will probably still sledgehammer home some environmental storyline somewhere within the season.

Anybody who has ever watched Who consistently, especially since the rebirth, knows that that the doctor is essentially simultaneously bisexual and asexual at any given time, this theory that he’s suddenly been turned gay is frankly ridiculous

Exactly. In tragically online terminology, Doc has long been "biromantic acesexual."

And even if one incarnation has a preferential leaning for one gender, there's more to a character than that.

No one cared about that until a black gay man was the lead.

And the only people who are triggered by it, don’t even watch it.

Who was Christopher Eccleston's main love interest?

Who was David Tennant's main love interest?

If I'm not mistaken in the early episodes of the Matt Smith era they did have him and Amy Pond flirting with each other, until admittedly Moffat backed away from the idea.

It's simply not true what you're saying.

The only real ‘love interest’ there’s ever been was River Song and even if what you’re implying was true, about the companions, it’s a canon fact that the doctor has had ‘flings’ with men before in his pas, your refusal to accept that and just barrel on with this misguided belief that they’ve made the doctor gay, which they haven’t done btw, completely out of the blue is based on nothing
