I was asked at work what I would have done if I was on that tube train. I hesitated, then said "I don't really know"

It dawned then that these things aren't just internet clips, they are real life events, probably 14 breaths in and out for us in time length, but the last 14 for others we watch slip away. It just beyond reality that I once knew.

The reality I do know now is, I rekon I would have went straight to that girl, to shield her to late. Recognising what was happening would have been a blur, like your brain refusing to accept what you thought saw happening had actually happened. She's only crying, thank God, it wasn't a knife. Then the slump..The blood, but still the refusal to act. Not even in panic, like if you someone started shouting Muslim mantra before slashing and cutting. Not for me, I honestly think she would have been in my arms as she slumped.
