Lmao, don't worry about it Billy. I've given up all hope (ahar.) of anyone being civil about Emily (hope. not solo.), so I'm used to it now

And I agree with you as well Tom, I didn't say I disagreed. Hope weren't very good, they're OK, but other groups deserved their place.

Obviously, at the time, I supported a friend as I would any friend.

On the whole last years acts were just crap anyway, hence I supported a pre-menopausal woman to win

The half decent ones who could sing (but not necessarily have stage presence) were kicked off in the first couple of weeks, and him who sung Buttercup was well and truly stitched up. He could have gone far.

Hmm. A lot of people are "able to sing" but stage presence is just as important. Which is why Leon shouldn't have won

I've just watched the vid. How did she not make the final 12? Mrs Osbourne strikes again.

IMO the only acts who had nay real stage presence last year were Rhian & Same Difference. However, Rhydian I felt was somebody who would do well anyway - and when he sang with Katherine Jenkins, it arrived he wasnt as good as people maybe thought he was. He wasn't quit opera, not quite Rock-Opera. I could place him. I could see him selling albums, but could see him getting number 1 singles. Same Difference were good, but their voices IMO where not great.

IMO Leon deserved to win. He never had any singing lessons before his audition, and managed to go the whole show never being in the Bottom 2. He wowed people like Celine Dion, Michael Buble, Cheryl Cole - along with each of the judges at some point during the show. He has the voice - okay, maybe not the moves, but he can work on that.

I think Leon sent out the wrong message. Some people will work all their lives to try and get somewhere and never do. After Leon winning, there will be loads of people now just thinking "oh I can do that to" and have no practice and just turn up for the audition without practicing just expecting to get in.

True.

I think Leon winning was a joke. He simply does not have the natural ability to have any kind of longevity in the music business. As for Leon not having any prior training? Why does that matter? Carrie Underwood had no trainig prior to winning American Idol 4 but she was outstanding every week of the finals. For me Leon gave no more than two decent - and I dont mean good or great I mean no more than decent - performances throughout the competition. He was rubbish in the first few weeks and was only kept in because the public felt sorry for him.

I'm a fan of the Votefortheworst.com websit (Checkout my banner). I reckon that if we had a similar thing for x_factor they'd have latched on to Leon very quickly and would have claimed his victory was a disaster for the integrity of the show. I, for one, would agree.

Leon didnt deserve to win atall, he had trouble staying in tune, even the recording of When You Believe is awful. he turned the show into a joke.

There are always exceptions like Carrie Underwood but the vast majority of people who have no prior training or experience will go in and do badly, and Leon did just that. If people think they can do that and win then the standard is going to continue to drop and drop and X Factor will turn into a bigger joke than it already is.

I don't think he should have got past bootcamp. His mouth looks awkward when hes singing, his voice is very monotonous and I think when he releases later this year he won't last long in the charts. His second single will probably do well just for the novelty etc but after that I predict he will just bomb out of the charts.
