…wow, I knew that Alistair’s story was going to be a heart wrenching read…I mean, there were obviously many factors involved in the deterioration of his mental health and the despair that he would have been feeling… the factors that ‘consumed him’ that he felt helpless to find a resolve for or any help or direction in that resolve can’t be dismissed as playing such a big contributive as well…?…his home, his business, his marriage …the struggles he’d had to adapt his family home for his two disabled children…just immense …one of the sentences that stands out for me is ‘Alistair was a devoted father and a hardworking man’…and as children were often led to believe that ‘working hard’ will help to achieve that providing for families etc…?…but some people can so work hard and work themselves into physical and mental exhaustion and still not feel as though they’re ’catching that life break…’…

…the relentless stress and lack of support and inadequate compensation and physical and mental exhaustion exhaustion/despair… and possibly felt too I listened to, to seek help also…just a complete spiral and sinking and being left with no coping skills to be able to stop that decline…very, very tragic and incredibly sad…and yeah, there are probably too many Alistairs feeling similar things and for similar reasons so his story is important to be told also…thank you for highlighting it…
