Dozens of rapes and sexual assaults committed in sports centres, police figures reveal



Women and girls are being sexually assaulted in mixed changing rooms
across the country.

New police data show that at least 16 rapes, 80 sexual assaults and 65 acts
of voyeurism were committed in sports centres in 2023, equating to three
offences a week.

Many of the offences were in mixed-sex changing areas, according to a report
by the Women’s Rights Network (WRN), which obtained the figures via
freedom of information requests.

Campaigners warned that mixed-sex changing areas were a “magnet for
sexual predators”.

Single-sex changing facilities are not mandatory, but a Supreme Court ruling
in April found the word “sex” in the Equality Act referred to biological sex and
not gender identity.

The equality and human rights committee has said this means that only
biological women should be able to access female changing rooms.

However, many leisure centres are side-stepping the guidance by installing
mixed-sex changing areas, with one in three failing to offer any single-sex
facilities.

The study was published a day after an NHS trust was found guilty of
harassing a nurse who objected to sharing a women’s changing room with a
transgender doctor.

Please explain what differentiates a trans woman from 'a man in a dress and
make up', because I've been playing close attention to trans activists for a
decade now and the most common explanation I've been given is 'he says
he's a woman, so play along or you're evil.'

Runner up explanations:

A man is a trans woman if he's put in a lot of effort into looking like a
woman. However, a man who's made no such effort is just as valid a trans
woman as one who does. Trans women with beards and penises are
completely valid.

The existence of men and women with differences of sexual development
('intersex' people) prove that a completely different group of people who
don't have such disorders are trans if they say they are.

The true mark of who's a man or a woman isn't biological sex, but the
untestable gender identity that resides in all human beings, whether or not
they believe in it. At the same time, trans people must be given easy,
automatic access to cross-sex hormones and surgeries so they can alter
themselves to more closely resemble the opposite biological sex.
