Typical busy time
to punish everyone. To start 7AM Jr. Doctors, will walk out from Weds 17 to 22 December. [It comes after a five-day walkout last month. [Dr Jack Fletcher, chair of the BMA's resident doctors committee (RDC), said: "With the government failing to put forward a credible plan to fix the jobs crisis for resident doctors at the same time as pushing a real terms pay cut for them, we have no choice but to announce more strike dates. "However, these do not need to go ahead. Gradually raising pay over a few years and some common-sense fixes to the job security of our doctors are well within the reach of this government.] https://news.sky.com/story/doctors-i...stmas-13477102 Last edited by arista; 01-12-2025 at 05:31 PM. |

They now have the new plan from the Health Secretary
but it has no pay increase. The Striking Doctor (Dr Jack Fletcher, British Medical Association) he is wasting time by stretching over the weekend just to say No He spoke on BBC2 Politics Live today. Last edited by arista; 11-12-2025 at 01:26 PM. |

Resident Doctors still have my solid support.
I hoped they'd get much better from Labour, in my view they should have had better and so far, it's not been the case. They were atrociously badly treated by the last shower in government. They should be respected more by this government. |

They have lost public support now, the NHS is supposed to be overwhelmed with flu cases but they are happy to let their colleagues pick up the slack, shame on them I wouldn't want to be treated by one of these shameless pricks, they could have delayed given the stress on the NHS but no.... I do agree with some of their claims like but this is not right

They are demanding 26% 2nd Pay Increase. No Government can afford that amount? Be fair |

They know they'll not get anywhere near 26% again but the problems are not just pay there's other issues too. I'd like to see some fairness towards the Resident Doctors, who along with their other colleagues but also in a great part themselves are saving lives hour by hour day by day. They deserve far better than they've had since 2007 onwards. So my support stays solid for them. However this strike at this time, is certainly going to lose them public support and sympathy. That's the risk that is taken when any workforce takes strike action. It doesn't mean their grievances are not justified not that the action is wrong. It is likely the BMA are being more difficult admittedly too but Labour should nevertheless be going all out to protect the NHS, all the Doctors and Nurses and other workers in the NHS too. It's rather despicable of them not to. ONE really long overdue good pay rise shouldn't mean back to the not even just enough attitude. |
