Correct. POTUS would've spoke to the entire public directly, not just had his underlings run around trying to politicize it. He would've called for reason, but then triggered Insurrection Act out of abundance of caution if it still kept out of control, but the State would've had some time to get itself in order and troops are called if needed. States would cooperate to restore order. Not everyone waiting until the right topics or videos are trending on X/social for maximum winning optics. This is a painful game of chicken except regular people are caught in the middle and everyone else is halfassing it.
