I reckon it was safer for children back in the day .. we played out all day in the summer holidays .. playing football or whatever or fishing miles away from home and without mobile phones for our parents to check up on us throughout the day

I definitely think that the past generations knew how to have more fun compared to the modern day, where people are scared to have a laugh about anything in case it offends some people.

I do also think people in general are more like the Borg from Star Trek compared to previous generations, who I don't believe would tolerate people like Starmer and Trump for more than 5 minutes.

The biggest improvements in recent times is the overall acceptance of Homosexuality and Animal Rights, even if it's still not perfect for either group, I do believe that there has been good strides to improve society in those areas.

I think that every generation thinks their own time of being young were the greatest years. It makes me very happy to know that everyone who thinks this messy, mixed up world is the best yet, with its over-reliance on technology, its over-population, its crime and its illegal immigration is the best time ever will be told they're wrong. In 20 or 30 years (and when you're very young you have no idea how show short a time that is) a whole new generation of young people with no experience of the world but who imagine they have all the answers will be informing them that they're wrong, and that the time they're in right now is the best time.

The past was better relatively speaking, but I think even then we had hoped to had progressed farther than we have now. If it's been sold that the future would be brighter than it actually is, that's where the disappointment and resentment come into play.

I saw from early on it's not that simple, especially anything relating to the government. I've also seen the worst come out of people where many wouldn't expect, and in many ways that made me more of an optimist, because I saw also the work it takes to not* do that by default...
