For me I do wonder if I was harsh on Chanelle Hayes, Ziggy, and Rachel Rice looking back on those years.

…possibly in the early days, I can’t recall but I think that it was easier to be more harsh in the early days with the absence of social media and the awareness of that collective ‘tornado of hate’ that can be directed at a housemate that may be less public popular or more controversial to whatever etc…I mean, Nasty Nick is an example because he’s so iconic and that was the first experiment so it was all…oh my God…!!!!!!….but in the world we live in now of social media, there would be a huge level of toxicity that were now aware of because of our internet/social media awareness…I recall, wasn’t Grace spat at or physically assaulted in some way in the street…those were the days when we didn’t have social media in the same way so wouldn’t have perceived that level of negativity could have been levelled at a housemate…and once things are ‘out there in words’ etc, they can’t be taken back and will inevitably begin to collect and gather in their negativity…

…I mean, we say …oh it doesn’t work so well now because of restrictions etc and let’s go back to how it was…but for that to work, it would have to be as it was in those times and that can never be…the weight of words does have to be considered because of the weight of social media platforms and the impact that can have on lives outside the house…

i quickly forget BB housemates. I would have difficulty remembering who was in the last civilian series now, let alone 20 years ago. The ones i remember have gone on to do other things outside the house
