The way I see it, the biggest difference is that Ukraine was actually invaded. People can dislike Iran’s behaviour around the world for all sorts of reasons, but they didn’t try to annex a neighbour. That distinction matters in any discussion about how these situations unfolded and why the international response looks so different.
