The consequence of not starting this war was iran on a path to nuclear weapons. I see it more of a between a rock and a hard place situation.
I'm also not naive enough to believe the west are playing with a straight bat, but no-one ever really does The UK staying out of the war, doesn't stop us being a target and under those circumstances, europe should have joined with America in its actions. I, personally, in situations of war, would prefer to be on the winning side Last edited by bots; Yesterday at 05:48 AM. |

Trump needs to know when to keep his mouth shut with his threats of total annihilation towards Iran
No, just get rid of those loyal to the regime, the other iranians are good people though

Fuel prices are climbing again, the war is burning through a billion a day, and the new leader already looks like they’re on borrowed time. I honestly don’t understand how anyone can stand there and declare “victory” in the middle of all this, but that seems to be the line we’re getting.
From where I’m sitting, Starmer is handling this about as sensibly as anyone can. The last thing we need is to get dragged deeper into a conflict that’s escalating by the week. Keeping some distance isn’t weakness — it’s self‑preservation. And now that the situation is spiralling, it’s even more important that we’re not tied to every decision being made on the ground. The irony is hard to ignore: the war is being fuelled by weapons originally meant for Ukraine. It’s a mess, and not just for the people directly involved — the fallout hits all of us, whether it’s energy prices, supply chains, or the general sense that everything is getting more unstable. None of this feels like “victory”. It feels like we’re all bracing for whatever comes next.
