CNN was forced to delete a post that made light of the suspected ISIS-inspired bombing attempt near New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani's home over the weekend.

The initial X post described suspects Emir Balat, 18, and Ibrahim Kayumi, 19, as 'two Pennsylvania teenagers' who simply 'crossed into New York City Saturday morning for what could've been a normal day enjoying the city during abnormally warm weather.'

'But in less than an hour, their lives would drastically change as the pair would be arrested for throwing homemade bombs during an anti-Muslim protest outside of Mayor Zohran Mamdani's home,' it continued.

The post's poor construction was promptly highlighted by a horde of onlookers before being deleted around 9:30am Tuesday.

CNN released a statement shortly thereafter, admitting the post 'failed to reflect the gravity of the incident thereby breaching the editorial standards we require for all our reporting.'

'It has therefore been deleted,' a CNN spokesperson further told the Daily Mail Tuesday morning.

It reads like the description on the back of a book in a Young Adult section. "Their lives would suddenly change forever..."
