Default kate saved & news about bars

this was from the sun online it say's:

BIG Brother saved contestant Kate from drowning after she fell asleep in the whirlpool bath after a boozing session.

Kate, 22, didn’t respond to calls to go to the diary room, so Lee was ordered into the bathroom to help her.

An insider said: “When Lee arrived she was sinking into the water, having already fallen over.”

Muscleman Lee helped bikini-clad Kate out of the bath. She then told Lee she felt sick and threw up over the side of the bath.

Kate fell ill at around midnight on Thursday night after downing red wine with her pals.

Lee, 22, said: “She is okay, just a bit tired. She was very drunk

it goes on and say that Big Brother chiefs are set to axe the bars sooner than planned after Sun readers branded them a flop.

Bosses had meant to keep the bars, splitting the house into rich and poor sides, for the whole series. But they have had a flood of complaints.

In a Sun You the Jury Poll, 97 per cent said they ruined the show. A Big Bruv insider said: “At this rate the bars may be coming down.”

THE show’s bosses are deciding whether to tell the housemates a chicken has died. A vet put it down due to illness

Thanks, mcginn.

1. It was incredibly stupid of the other housemates to leave Kate alone in the bath. Thank goodness someone manning the screens was paying attention, or there could have been a real tragedy. The only good thing BB has done so far this year.

2. I have my doubts that BB chiefs are set to axe the bars sooner than planned, especially after LEE has said she was told at last night's eviction that they had no plans do do this.

3. Perhaps Alex and Adele would be concerned that a chicken had died - I don't think the other housemates could care less about them.

1) Imagine the PR that would have caused.
2)HOOOOORRRRRAAAAYYYYYYY. Best BB news i have heard for a while.
3) The other housemates would just have proably said "Can we eat it now?"

The person I was talking to last night did say that the producers were still determined to keep the bars, however, he did say that he hoped they would change their mind due to public opinion. He didn't seem very optimistic that this would happen, but he did say it was possible, he just didn't think it was likely.

Let's hope he's wrong.

Default Big Brother - the Concept

It occurs to me that if, as seems likely, the bars remain and Big Brother returns next year, it will be because of the inherant strength of the original concept, and not the Channel 4 organisational skills.
It leaves me wondering if Endemol have reserved the right to renegotiate their franchise if they feel the current encumbants are deemed to be not competant to enhance the reputation of the Big Brother brand.

I do feel, however, that the "Big Cheeses" need to be given some credit if they do re-evaluate the split format and look at the broader picture and turn it into a "will they won't they" story line, with the public having the final say.

I am sure they are looking closely at the options at the moment.

Wise words Splodge, I'd go along with that, at least for their own sakes the Producers would not be seen to be climbing down off their high horse due to public pressure but appear instead to be listening to the viewers voice...after all as I have asked before, who is the programme being made for, them or us...I do wonder sometimes? The housemates are becoming more and more disheartened and rebellious and I think it won't be long before a few of them will just say 'what they hell' and do whatever they want, which will result in strikes, mass evictions and their freedom. At least this way it will save them having to 'walk' and they will come out the victor for putting two fingers up at the whole stupid mess they have been forced to endure through bad organization these last few weeks. They would certainly get the thumbs up from me, the whole thing sucks big time!
How awful the situation with Kate sounds, it is circumstances like this that makes it worthwhile having 'gadgies' in the shower room....they might seem pervy the majority of the time spying on the housemates in there, but when this sort of thing happens it is a blessing in diguise....phew what a relief all turned out ok!!!

Thanks for the compliment, Honey. I fear they fall on deaf ears though.
