Default Your Top 10 Favourite Comedies Ever!

So personally I'm a fan of all comedys, well most, and I was just wondering what your top 10 comedy sitcoms are. Mine are all classic even though I'm 15 I'm the odd one out, out of my mates but I'm proud.

1 - Highest
10 - Lowest

Well here's mine.

1. Hancock's Half Hour (I think that member Sod_James may like this choice not sure)

I think Tony Hancock and Sid James are the best comedians ever. The programs are genius, got them on DVD the other week

2. Steptoe And Son

Ray Galton and Alan Simpson, two more comedy geniuses. Also now own these on DVD and can't get enough of them!

3. Only Fools and Horses

Downloaded and burned to DVD, and seriously I must have watched them 500000 times over. I'm sure everyone must like this.

4. Fawlty Towers

John Cleese and Andrew Sachs aka. Manuel are so funny it's unbelievable. Best episode has to be Basil the Rat!

5. Father Ted

My first "new" comedy. The episode with the old men playing football must come in one of the greatest comedy moments ever! Escape To Victory

6. The Royle Family

Reason needed?

7. I'm Alan Partridge

8. Gavin and Stacey

Only recentely started watching and it's great. .

9. Open All Hours

10. Porridge

What are yours?

1. Father Ted
It is the best one, ever. I dont know anyone that dislikes it. It still funny over ten years on, and will be for years to come. Dermot Morgan is a hero. He was a great comedian and actor, and when I think of it I am still saddened by his death.

LOVE IT! I love Tom and Linda. She the sex obsessed red head, while Tom is the camp wannabe actor. Love them.

2) Vicar Of Dibley
What more to say? Dawn French is a sensation.

3) Phoenix Nights
How funny is this show? Peter Kay is amazing. Amazing cast...provided lots of laughs for me...

1. Seinfeld

The show about nothing was really something. Anyone who has watched it must rank it in the top three of all time.

2. Fawlty Towers

12 achingly funny shows but if it'd maintained that quality over another couples of series would have been the best ever.

3. Frasier

Classy traditional sitcom that always delivered laughs wise. Well drawn characters that found themselves in extraordinary circumstances.

4. The Larry Sander show

Ricky Gervais has admitted the influence this show had on the office. Gary Shandlings opus and one of the most inventive comedies of all time.

5. Only fools and Horses

In the top ten more for its tender moments that for the comedy

6. The Phil Silvers Show (Sgt Bilko)

Brilliant. No other word can describe it. One of the shows responsible for the maturation of the genre. The best of Bilko still makes me laugh even though some episodes are nearly nearly 60 years old.

7. Curb your Enthusiasm

Larry David's other show. As good as Seinfeld in many ways better than Seinfeld in many ways.

8. The Office

The best British sitcom since Fawlty Towers.

9.Yes Minister

Not everyones cup of tea but never the less a brilliant show. Clever, topical and very funny.

10. The Simpsons

Animated or live The simpsons is one of the best shows ever.

1 - Fawlty Towers
I come from Torquay. It's only obligatory that I put Fawlty Towers first. But John Cleese is one of my favourite comedy actors ever. Loads of memorable scenes.

2 - Family Guy
Love it. One of the few shows on TV today I will go out of my way to watch.

3 - Will & Grace
Great, likable, funny characters. And the theme tune is funky

4 - The Royle Family
Really sad ending, but a really simple and effective comedy series.

5 - Friends
Everyone has a show they grew up watching and characters they grew to love; most 90s' kids' was Friends. Sometimes the characters Ross & Joey annoy me, because I don't like stupid humour, but Phoebe, Monica, Chandler and Rachel make up for it

6 - Only Fools and Horses
My dad's favourite show, but I remember as a child the theme tune used to make me cry But it's obviously provided a lot of memorable sketches.

7 - Vicar of Dibley
Only so low because it's been repeated beyond belief.

8 - French & Saunders Sketch shows
Lots of hilarious scenes, somewhat spoiled by some not-so-funny ones.

9 - Extras
I haven't watched any full episodes, hence being so low, but clips I've seen on youtube have been very funny.

10 - Peep Show
Clever way of filming the sitcom, David Mitchell is brilliant.
