I don't know, my MacBook is faster than any Desktop PC in terms of everyday use it even faster than my more expensive windows vista laptop. It boots to fully running in 30 seconds and is ready to go.
Okay it not the best games machine in the world but if I want to play games I would buy a Xbox 360 or a PSP3.

Do you think I should buy one with Windows Vista or a Mac ? Because I need one since I will go to Uni next year therefore I will get my own flat but I'm asking which one I should buy and if it's really safe to buy a laptop.
