Default Big Brother is Over!

I've heard rumors about this, that BB9 is the last series they are going to make. What do you guys think?

It can't be true . I wanted to audition but I'm still under age...I'm going to cry if they stop making BB's!

There is currently a contract between Channel 4 and Endemol until 2010 (Big Brother 11).

I highly doubt BB9 will be the last series.

dont worry its untrue. Channel 4 have the bbuk contract, and even if channel 4 dont want it anymore then itv will snap it up without a doubt, but they will kill it... Trust me.

People seem to forget that contracts can be terminated at any time.

2010? pheww, i have time then *wipes forehead*. i just thought it would be a blast if i got in, but the show's not half of what it used to be, really, so i'm having second thoughts. i think the popularity peaked at bb7. it's just not the same anymore.

*Sigh* Channel four can finish the contract at any time , simply pay Endemol the rest of the money left on the contract , and tell them clear off.

This COULD be the last series.

I doubt it , though.

They won't tho. BB is where C4 makes the majority of it's profit. Without BB, C4 would suffer badly and they know it.

All I can say is that they get Channel 4 the highest ratings for the channel. If they cancel it, good luck to them trying to get a show that gets 3-4 million.

Its not. It might be the lowest rated series so far but its far from a flop. Media interest is quite high and its one of Channel 4's consistently highest rated programmes.

... with a compensation/breach of contract payout. Channel 4 paid Endemol £180m for BB8-BB11 and all spin offs so its extremely cheap programming to produce given the amount of airtime it gets. Paired with that it rates highly for C4 any profit they make will be quite significant. Its highly unlikely that it will be dropped before the contract is over.
