Its happening to me now, but really... those mates aren't worth the hassle. True mates would never do it.

Yes, but it happens.
When I went to University I moved 100 miles away, and some of my old friends from school just stopped talking to me. Their loss ![]() |

I only speak to about 7 people from school and that is probably because they either live near me or I went to college with them. There was a big group of us who, at the end of someones party after the prom, we hugged eachother for aaaaaages and stuff, and was like "don't lose touch" and ironically that was the last time I spoke to some of them.
But sometimes its good to lose touch with friends for a few weeks, then start speaking to eachother again, then stop speaking for another few weeks and so on. Not intentionally, but thats good because you don't get as sick of them as easily and you like the time you spend with them more than those you constantly speak to. |

I was actually thinking about this today at work. Well about one of my best friends. She was going out with this guy for a year and then just around Xmas there they had a messy split up and since she has been smoking (more) and finding more excuses to get drunk which helps toward her argueing more. But it's not just that.. she is SUCH an attention seeker Every conversation turns into something about her, even if I went, e.g. "yeah I'm feeling awful just now, I've just left my job, worst thing to happen to me this year, bla bla" she would be all like "yeah, well today at work, omg etc etc" just little things but now its getting to the stage where I am actually disliking her. Any tips?

In a matter of fact I stopped talking to people for no reason (well there is a slight reason why). I used to walk to school with them, then one of them was spreading rumours about me and laughing at me and calling me names. I stopped walking with them (because of one person). Somebody said that they were hoping for someone to go to a thing because they were annoying. I said I wanted that person and I said me reason. He thenm went and told the person that was calling me names (lets call him X) and X then apologised. I still don't walk with them. I don't really speak to them.
