Telecinco and Zeppelin TV have started the auditions to be housemate in the tenth season of 'Gran Hermano' (Big Brother) in Spain.

"Gran Hermano" (Big Brother) has broken a new record at the start of auditions in its tenth season: almost 30,000 people have contacted the number authorized by Telecinco -806 502 502 (1,18 euros per minute)- during the first week to become housemates.

With this numbers, the pioneer and most successful reality TV in Spain exceeds the candidates' numbers from the two latest seasons, as has been said by Telecinco.

The "Gran Hermano" auditions team has already begun to work with the first personal details sent by the candidates before starting the next phase, which will begin a tour of the main Spanish regions: Madrid, Galicia, Asturias, Basque Country, Catalonia, Valencia, Murcia, Andalusia, the Balearic Islands, the Canary Islands, Aragon and Extremadura.

The process will be supervised by the psychologist Enrique Garcia Huete, who will lead a team of specialists in the preparation of profiles of each candidate.

During the ninth seasons, more that 600,000 people have tried to enter into "Gran Hermano".

Telecinco 2 (the channel broadcasted by Digital Terrestrial Television) will show whole the first season of "Gran Hermano": all the weekly shows and diary shows.

"Gran Hermano 1" will end seen by 9.905.000 viewers and the 70,8% share.

Mercedes Milá, the "Gran Hermano" host, has confirmed that the live feeds will be showed in the official website apart from the digital platform ONO, Imagenio and Digital +.

A bus will search the last housemates to "Gran Hermano 10" for the second year in a row. This bus will travel around Spain with the casting team.

The latest year, Melania, Dadi and Piero were selected in their cities by the casting team in the bus.

The cities and towns will be Laredo (Cantabria), Huesca, Benicàssim (Castellón), Salou (Tarragona), Cartagena (Murcia), Ibiza (Balearic Islands), Marbella (Málaga) y Conil (Cádiz).

During a press conference, the host, Mercedes Milá, has said that the housemates will be very powerful this year.

The tenth season of "Gran Hermano" in Spain will launch on Sunday, 21st September (although the evictions and nominations will showed on Tuesdays). This will be the first 10th season with anonymous in the world.

This season will be hosted by Mercedes Milá. Carmen Alcayde will host the diary shows and "Gran Hermano: El debate" (Gran Hermano: The debate) will be hosted by Jorge Javier Vázquez.

Gran Hermano has been broadcasted on Wednesday (GH1 and GH2) and on Thursday (GH3-GH9). However, "Gran Hermano" has been broadcasted on Tuesday during GH3 (the 6th eviction and the 7th nominations) because of the Spanish general strike.



Zeppelin TV (the producer) and Telecinco will surprise the viwers with surprising housemates.

In the latest seasons transsexuals (Amor and Nicky), twins (Conchi and Pamela), the primite (Carlos), the naive (Nuria), the lesbian (Raquel), the former prostitutes (María José and Mónica) or the seminarian (Rafa) have entered the house.

Telecinco and Zeppelin kept the housemates' identity to maintain the mystery until the day of launch, but some profiles have been leaked.

On of this profiles will be an Asian housemate. She would be the first Asian housemate in "Gran Hermano" Spain, after the African Andalla or Muslim (Luhay and Dadi).



A Asian housemate (Kathreya) entered in the British version during the ninth season and she was very popular until she was evicted in the last week.

Another housemate would be a "grandfather" or "grandmother" as the current season of "Big Brother" in the US that has 75 years old.
