The big companies aren't going to dog in their best customers, especially with BT recently announcing plans they want optic lines in every house in the UK, a 15bn plan.
I expect that the technology they're going to use will just measure bandwidth and download usage, so in an age where we can watch TV online, the average half hour show (which ends up at about 22 minutes) is 600MB so how will they be able to differentiate from whether we're using BBC iPlayer or BitComet?
