Default No New Registrations! PLEASE, for the sake of the forum!

Edit: The following was a joke! I thought it would be obvious. Of course I don't want to close down new registrations completely. Some people thought I was serious so I put up this little note.

Please!

I am so SICK of this.

All the time a new user registers and makes a ton of posts, often repetitive, almost always in text speech, always making sure to put it in the wrong category (I mean drastically WRONG! "Lisa To Win" in the graphics thread? Where's the COMMON SENSE?), also always ensuring to either SHOUT AT ME FOR THE WHOLE POST or speak entirely in lower case (is there no middle ground? Can your post not have upper case AND lower case letters?) then, after causing a huge disturbance, LEAVES the forum after only a SINGLE WEEK!!

We already have plenty of members and the new ones contribute NOTHING, only cause the quality of the forum to deteriorate. Do the right thing for the forum. Turn OFF new registrations.

Thank you.

This post is selfish. You were a new member once, as was everyone. Yes new members arent quite aware of all the things that they are meant to do and need time to settle in and get to terms with the whole flow of the forum. If anything, if something as petty as this gets to you them maybe you shouldn't be on the forum. Guest looking now may feel weary about joining now because people like you dont give them a chance. The Moderators and Admin team are trying there best to move topics and alternate posts with text talk/Capital letters etc and they are doing a good job. Yes, i do think all the text talk should stop but "Banning" new member registrations? Thats pretty pathetic. Sometimes we need fresh new members on here and as for me, i think everyone deserves a chance...
Just give them time.

You were a new member, so was I, so was every single person on this forum. New members don't know about text speech, they don't reliase, as they haven't read the rules.

Maybe they could put a small charge on new members having to sign up to the forum before CBB6 to stop some people?

Uh, no. Because for every annoying new member there's one who's actually willing to follow the forum rules and provide interesting posts. How would you have liked it if we said this at the beginning of June?

99% of new members follow rules, and funnily enough - aren't as rude as you are coming across right now.

I know who I'd prefer to speak to at this moment in time.
You're the opposite of welcoming, and considering you ARE new, that's extraordinarily rich.

I think instead of closing out all the good new members, we should perhaps rid of the pre-existing rule breakers, or those that don't make this community a nice one...

I'd say this. When BB is on the forum goes manic.. that's great to be honest. What's hard is keeping up with every post that is added to the forum... that's why there are a few moderators. We were all new once so have to remember the time it took us to adjust to forum life. We also have to remember people sign on at all sorts of times in the day.. so may not know a Sara to win post has already been posted in the Big Brother 9 forum that's why, at times, we remind you .. nicely I hope.. that there are sub-forums for each housemate.. as then, it makes it easier for all members to see what's been posted about each housemate. We also have Big Brother 9 posts at the top of the page so you can read all BB9 posts... I think I'm rambling.. yes, yes I am..
But, to get to the point.. I don't think stopping new members from joining will help stop the things you mentioned.

Eh I'm new and so are you.

Yes some people join and dont realise what the rules are either because they by passed them and just didnt read them or they have forgotten.

All that needs to be done is have them reminded. Stopping new comers.. what do you think this is? A wee exclusive cult? TiBB is open to anyone who is willing to post following the rules.

You cannot just lump all new members into one category!Whilst there might be some that don't follow the rules and cause quite a bit of trouble, there are also plenty that add a valid contribution to the forum.

It wouldn't be in the overall interest of the forum to stop new registrations.

bigbr0ther oh I think you need to step down off that high horse of yours. Firstly you ask Sia to make you a banner with 'SUPER MODERATOR' written in the background and now you want to stop people from joining the forum. You have a nerve.

But whats the point of a public forum where the public cannot join?
Then it's just a.....forum.

And it is one silly thing to say, why not randomly start deleting accounts instead if theres too many of us.
Thats fun
