Default BT and BB are ripping you off!

You should know that according to the people who develop the software the runs the telephone voting stsyem for BB, ONLY your FIRST vote from one number is counted. All other calls are charged but not counted EVEN if you use 141!

Has this been verified ?

I am wary of any further voting incase this is true.

I sent an e-mail to a computer friend of mine and his response was

Quote:
It sounds plausible, and even, to some degree, a good idea. Because BB is technically a game show with a large prize in the end, the producers are legally obliged to take all possible measures against cheating and vote-rigging. They wouldn't publicise this, of course, as it would stop lunatics who sit pressing "redial" and paying for their weekend breaks in the Carribean...

This means, of course, that people like me who are ex-directory and dont release their caller ID would never have their votes counted. Frankly, I don't care... :P
I must point out my friend hates all reality TV programmes.

I E-mailed one of the Big Brother e-mail addresses and none has replied.

Is there anyone out there that can confirm Skid's post is a hoax ?

I think this is highly unlikely. The multiple votes of the more gullible amongst us are reflected in the figures.

the single vote is quite possible from the software side of things ......even people with undisclosed clid is available if you phone 999..........is big brother counting allthe votes for good viewing figures on the show ...and then taking the actual single votes into account for the nomination ..............tough one this good question for the 3 kings i thought

Given the number of votes cast for Adele's eviction, I think it is obvious that multiple votes are counted.

I don't think they should be, imagine if it was a General Election!

However, if they did find a way to prevent multiple voting, it would cost them a lot of money, and I can't see the greedy bosses at C4/Endemol letting that happen.

If Skid is right though Oldgit, all calls are CHARGED but only the first one is COUNTED.

If this is the case - and I'm sceptical of the fact - C4 could be had up for taking our money under false pretences.

Could they, though? You make a phone call and you pay for it, to the phone company. What the receiver of that call decided to do with that call is up to them. The fact they may get a cut of the cost of the call is neither here not there.

But as I said, I don't think they are preventing multiple voting at all. I do not believe that 3.3million different people voted, does anyone?

Default All votes count

I agree with oldgit that the number of votes reported this last week show that multiple votes are being counted.

Also, the rules for voting state "Individuals may vote as many times as they like".

Having said the above, they also say "Big Brother reserves the right to discount votes if it believes there is evidence of fraudulent bulk votes being cast". I'd assume that this is to stop people setting up a computer to dial the number repeatedly 24/7 from their office (or similar), but it could be applied to people who log a high number of votes from a single number.

Default All Votes Counted

Hi Guys

New to this Forum. In reply to whether multiple votes are counted, answer is....they are.

If you read all the conditions at the bottom of Channel 4 site, you'll find that multiple votes are allowed, which wouldn't reflect how many real voters there were. Site's conditions also say they can discount votes if they think there's a scam going on, so why didn't they! The most hated contestant in the UK received less votes than Adele, yet before the voting result, both Jade and Adele were 50-50, according to Net sites.....! I voted for Adele, as I thought her of being devious and egging Jade on, for I also heard Adele whisper to Jade, "to get Sophie out!" so to me she wasn't a nice person, and playing a game one would attribute to Survivor than BB!

Back later....and I like this forum.

Cheers Hauser

All I wanted to say was, thanks Lee for your greetings.

Can't get your colourful smileys to work...unless they are allocated to others?

Cheers Hauser

The smilies should work hauser.

All you have to do is click on them, you won't see the actual smilie when you are writing your post though, you'll just see the code come up. When you save your post they should be there.

If you still have probs let me know.
