Default College

So im going to start college next September, and Im concidering 4 college's in Surrey(where i live).

Im concidering Guildford, Farnborough, Godalming and Brooklands.
Does anyone know of these colleges in Surrey, and know which one is better?

And also, do you think I should fill out an application for all 4 of them and send them off so i have more of a chance to get in 1 of them?

You should apply to all 4 so you can change your mind like I do.

You'll get in anyway, it's not really about the application form, but basically just about your results. tbh it doesn't really make a lot of difference which college you go to, if one has better results it just means that the people who went there in that year happened to be better at organising their time, as we're a bit too old now for the teaching to matter loads.
Also, don't decide until you've visited them. I chose mine by that, it just had a better atmosphere

Alright thanks.

Yeah I'm going to go to the Open Evening of the 4 of them and will decide which one I like better from that.

The thing im worried about is the interview, never had one before

Colleges let anyone in as long as you've got the right GCSE's. Don't let teachers scare you into thinking its really hard to get in.

The interviews are fine. As Tom said, they seem to try and scare you into believing that you're not serious about it, but as long you remember that an interview is just a conversation between two people, you'll be fine!

Unless you are doing a course that involves talent, like Acting, Dance or Music you will just get in. The only thing that will stop you getting in will be if you dont get 5 GCSE's but colleges have things you can do to get in with less than that now. Like first diplomas or re sits.
Dont worry about getting into college, you will get in :P Its not like uni.

Our careers teacher did an assembly about how difficult it is to get into college and how you really have to impress the college to get in. She suggested taking along all of our certificates, a copy of our CV and any medals we may have just to impress them. Noone did that and just turned up, (most of us not even in the proper school uniform) and still got in fine.

The interviews are really just confirming your place and sorting out what courses you want to do

Thanks guys. Yeah I even read that even if you get all your gradeds below a C grade, you would still get in, you just get to do different levels of the subject.

But my teachers say that I will easily get 5 A*-C GCSE's, i hope so.

yeah, but you don't do the subjects you want, you'd have to retake. If you get under 5 and fail maths you have to retake that but you can fail it and as long as you get 5 you don't. I think English and Science are the same but I'm not sure.. I didn't find out about those because I knew I'd pass them, positive I'd fail maths though

Yeah, my predicted grades are good so far. Ive got 1 A*, 2 A's, 2 B's and C's and 1 D, so thats good. If only i could get that in the real thing.

Eurghh Maths and Science are my worst subjects... and History.
