Makosi stirred up a hornet's nest when she told Anthony that Derek has been telling Housemates he is gay.

An astonished Anthony was dumbfounded when he heard what Derek has been saying behind his back, and vowed to go and do some press ups to prove he is straight.

"He has tried to convince us all that you are gay," Makosi revealed as the Housemates chatted on the sofas. "And he has convinced Orlaith that you are a closet gay."

"What!" Anthony stood up in complete shock. "I can't believe that!" he squawked.

Craig immediately leapt to Anthony's defence. "He's the biggest female man in this House!" he said, not contributing much to Anthony's straight image.

"A gay bloke would not have had an erection in a swimming pool with females," Craig added, still fighting Anthony's corner.

But Anthony knew there was only one way to prove to the world that he is not gay.

"I'm going to go out and do some press ups, like," he said gruffly.

Anthony confronted Derek in the garden after hearing that he has been spreading rumours that he is gay.

"Derek, it's come to my attention that you think I'm gay," angry Ant said. "Do you think I'm gay?" he asked, choosing not to beat around the bush.

Slightly surprised by Anthony's forceful tone, Derek said: "I don't think so now, not today anyway."

Like a good politician, Derek tried to avoid giving direct answers to Anthony's questions, but the irate lad was not going to take it lying down.

"Did you not say it?" Anthony demanded.

"I don't know whether you are or you're not, and frankly I don't give a damn." Derek said, deftly covering his bases. "I don't think you are now. But would it matter if people thought you were?"

Anthony said it would not matter, but wanted to make it clear he is absolutely, totally not gay.

"Sometimes you meet people that could possibly be [gay] and they don't even know that they are," Derek said cosily with a rye smile. "Lots of people need help in coming to terms with their sexuality."

"I don't need help," Anthony laughed before dashing off, probably for a spot of early afternoon massage with an ever-willing Craig...
