I was talking a bunch of male college students on tuesday and would say that around 70% of them thought Derek was the best housemate. Is anyone else finding people that Derek is gaining popularity as the show goes on?

And have you noticed that the bookies have slowly been shorting his odds to win the show since he survived the vote last week?

Derek is my number 1 housemate. Good to see he has some support out there as well, cos the vote between him and Roberto was very close. I hope he stays for as long as possible, but I can't see him winning it.

Derek has definately gone from being disliked to liked, im not sure he would win but ive been asking various people at work and alot of them are supporting Derek. I would'nt be suprised to see him in the final 4.

I think Roberto going has done him a lot of good. Now he has to integrate more with the house and it doing him good.

In terms of fans I guess he has picked up many a fan from the Roberto camp.

Yeah I really like Derek the now as well and I never liked him at the start but he's actually really funny and he's not afraid to speak his mind

I've liked Derek from the start. He's doing really well considering he is about 15 years older than the rest of them.

He stands up for himself without all the "drama" that the other tend to have with a problem

Yeah I know what you mean, him and Roberto used to annoy me at the start the way they used to moan about the food and the washing up but thinking about it now everthing they said was right

Roberto, Derek and Science are the best three housemates. As Roberto has gone, I'd like to see either Derek or Science win.

I thought Dereks talk with Science was really good - explained the upset and did it in a nice way and Science took it on board - didn't go off on one so he must have respect for his elders. Nice thought.

Yeah I thought that as well he just sat down and explained on a one to one basis, that's probably why Science didn't go off on one.

Derek has gone from being unpopular in the early weeks, to one of the most popular housemates in there. he got a good reception from the crowd tonight, as did all the males.

Derek - Hhm.. I used to really like him. Thought he was probably one of the funniest in there. But then he went into game-plan overdrive and started being very sly. I've lost respect for him.. He thinks he's better than everyone else and such.
