I'm not that surprised that they split up, if the relationship wasn't that serious in the first place it wouldn't have stood up to Adele's flirtations with Lee and Alex while in the house.
I know a lot of people are cynical but I believe that Adele does really like Alex and if this is the case her split from Vicky opens the door for something to happen between the two of them when he leaves the house.
