I'm trying to think of a word. I know the definition roughly, I just can't think of the phrase.
It's basicly when you reword something, or say it more politely when in a bad situation, to avoid an awkward concequence. E.G, if someone was disabled and couldn't walk, and your friends asked you both to come jogging. Instead of saying 'he can't he's disabled', instead something like 'i'm not sure if he's up to it' Generally I think the definition, is to put a possibly offensive or upsetting sentence, in a more jokey way. Suggesting something, but in a less rude way. |

My English teacher ALWAYS uses that word. He taught us a list of complicated words.
