They did not want to dignify it by giving it more publicity. The expression "Treating it with the contempt it deserves" comes to mind.

And you are quite confident of the integrity of the food that you buy ?

Most company buyers are rigourous in quality control and the vetting of suppliers. In this age of litigation they can not afford to take risks.

Also it is a sobering point that most incidents of food poisonings take place in the home.
