A former Big Brother contestant will be returning to Borehamwood to take the lead role in a film being made in the area.

Grace Adams-Short, who took part in Big Brother 7 in 2006, will be returning to Elstree Film Studios in Shenley Road to act in a short drama film entitled Grace.

The film is written, produced and directed by author and Borehamwood & Elstree Times Big Brother blogger Paul Burton.

Miss Adams-Short, 23, is to play the title character of Grace Barker who discovers as her wedding approaches that her fiance has been having an affair.

The story looks at how she deals with the situation as it goes through the events leading up to the wedding day through flashbacks.

Filming will take place over one day — Saturday, October 4 — and will be shot by a professional freelance film crew.

Since Big Brother Miss Adams-Short has appeared in police drama The Bill and played the character of Nurse Janet in a touring stage production of Doctor in the House.

She was also the face of Uncle Ben's sweet and sour sauces last year and won the Sky One reality show Cirque de Celebrite in 2006.

Miss Adams-Short said: “I am really looking forward to appearing in the film and to meeting all of the cast. It's going to be great filming in Borehamwood again where it all began for me.”

Mr Burton is pleased that Miss Adams-Short has the opportunity to return to the studios.

He said: “It is strange that when I wrote the script of the film that I named the character Grace after I saw her on the show. I didn’t think in a million years that she would end up acting in the film.

“Many Big Brother contestants disappear without trace because they don’t have anything to offer. Grace went into the Big Brother house already a talented and fully-trained actress and dancer so it’s great to have her working on this film now.”

Mr Burton also said that he was looking for three female production assistants that would be working to assist the female actresses in the film.

He added: “The production assistants would be working with props, co-ordinating the extras and doing the practical things to help the actresses and keep the film in operation. We are looking for three people over the age of 16 who would be committed to a day of filming.”
